 In 2011 state election mamta banerjee won election with the support of Congress party.

Her 1st tenure was also heavily marred by the Saradha scam a financial embezzlement which led to the jail of madan mitra a former minister in their cabinet.

trinamool Congress won with an enhanced majority, with 211 seats out of 294 seats.



In October 2016, the Bengal govt led by didi banned durga puja a festival of hindus. this was seen by a section of the Bengal population as another example of the “ Muslim appeasement policy " of banerjee‘s govt. THE Calcutta high court overturned the decision and called it ‘ a bid to appease Muslim voters,

In 2018,  panchayat elections 14 peoples were killed in political violence in Bengal. police said that 14 killed at least 6 bjp 5 cpm 1 tmc or 2 Congress workers were killed in violence during panchayat election.

A month ago two student were killed in police firing. during the protest against the appointment of urdu teacher.
Home ministry report said that Bengal‘s malda district is the centre of illegal currency and weapons, Bengal also suffer from human trafficking, Bengal at top in human trafficking in india, Bengal is a centre of Bangladeshi migrants and rohingya migrants, mamta govt support Bangladeshis Muslims illegal migrants for votes, Bengal state  also has highest rate of unemployment in india.
