SUPREME COURT VERDICT ON RESERVATION IN PROMOTION

Supreme court justice RF Nariman clarified that there is no requirement to collect quantifiable data of backwardness of SC/ST to provide reservation in promotion. pronouncing it's judgement yesterday, the SC while holding that there was no need to refer it's 2006 VERDICT on benefits of quotas in job promotions for SC/ST employees to a larger bench, did term it bad in law. supreme court refused to refer it's 2006 decision on SC/ST job promotion to a 7- judge bench. supreme court turned down centre's plea for SC/ST to be considered for  granting quota. Now the centre state has right to give reservation in promotion. But question is.         any government have guts to give reservation in promotion. After a wrong decision. THE govt made such a big reform. The political courage that took years to implement the reform. In 2010 UPA govt gasoline prices decided by the market. UPA govt abandoned old policy, The NDA govt also followed this reform and modi‘s govt also includes diesel price in it.  Recently The whole country outcry because the price of petrol and diesel had gone up a bit. so the central govt reduced the amount of excise duty on petrol diesal of RS.1.50 rupee.
